The Great White Shark

The Great White Shark or Carcharadon carcharias can be found in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans preferring warm temperate and tropical coastal areas.  The Great White Shark is also known as the White Pointer and has been called in the past the White Death.  This incredible fish can grow up to 19.75 feet long, that is a massive 6 metres.

The Great White ranges from grey to brown in colour with white underparts and has a long pointed snout. This shark feeds on a variety of marine creatures ranging from fish including other sharks, seals, dolphins and scavenges on dead animals and refuse.

The Great White was made famous around the world by the hit movie Jaws and is well known for being an extremely large shark with matching levels of aggression.  The Great White has acquired a reputation for being a man eater as this shark has been involved in attacks on man however, there still remains a lot to be learnt about this shark and remains very much misunderstood to this day.

The Great White is not a mindless killer, it's attacks on man are due to the fact that this shark was designed and built by nature to hunt prey using some very advanced methods and has evolved over thousands of years to survive.  As you will see from the video featured below, the Great White Shark is not the monster that it has been portrayed to be in the media.

The Great White shark is a marvel of nature as it has not evolved for thousands of years indicating that this predator matches its environment perfectly and is equipped with a range of advanced sensors to hunt its prey and survive.  There are fossils of Great White sharks dating back to 16 million years ago.

The Great White Shark is not only aggressive and technically perfect as a predator but also a very incredible marine creature and a beautiful apex predator.
